Rose

Rose is a classic fragrance associated with romance, beauty and elegance. L'OCCITANE's Rose collection is inspired by the land of Forcalquier, located in southeastern France. In the middle ages it was the capital of Haute-Provence. The land was named after a fortress around which it grew and the inhabitants are called the 'Forcalquiérens'

The month of May brings sunshine and warmth. The scent of fresh fields of roses fills the alleys of Provencal villages, announcing the expected and joyful period of harvesting.

At this time, the family of the Count of Forcalquier organizes the traditional Fête de Mai (Celebration of May) to celebrate the revival of Nature: a tree decorated with garlands of roses, flower branches and brightly colored ribbons is set up in the center of the village. In accordance with tradition, the young people celebrate the joy of the first rose harvests by singing and dancing around the decorated tree.

Floral, fruity or sensual ...For every woman, there's the perfect rose.

Rose Nuit de Mai

Serenade of Roses on a Night in May

As night falls during the Fête de Mai (Celebration of May), all the young people elect the most beautiful girl as their Queen: "la Reine de Mai" (Queen of May). In the exuberant atmosphere of the night, as wafting scents of petals blend with the woody aromas of bonfires, a fragrance in the air captivates and seduces...

L'OCCITANE's Rose Nuit de Mai fragrance collection captures the atmosphere of the May festivities in a woody, floral sensuality. The fragrance opens with the fresh and delicate note of wild rose. A bunch of May roses blends with the delicious accord of violet and blackberry, heightened by cinnamon. Lingering woody base notes reveal the captivating scents of sandalwood, cedar and vanilla.

Rose 4 Reines

L'OCCITANE's Rose collection is inspired by the legend of the four queens of Forcalquier.

Ramon Berenguer IV, Count of Provence and Forcalquier and his wife Beatrice of Savoy had four daughters, all of whom married kings. Each of the Count of Forcalquier's daughters had her favorite rose: the Grasse rose, the Bulgarian rose, the Moroccan rose and the Turkish rose. So it was that Marguerite, Eléonore, Sancie and Beatrix came to be the 4 Queens (4 Reines) of Forcalquier. Their favorite roses are blended together in the Eau des 4 Reines: a beautifully fresh, delicate and velvety scent with muted hints of fruit.

Rose is a classic fragrance associated with romance, beauty and elegance. L'OCCITANE puts a new interpretation by blending 4 different roses to create a petal fresh scent of originality.

  • The Grasse Rose, bathed in the light of the Mediterranean, radiates fruity, delicately honeyed notes.
  • The Turkish Rose unveils plant notes, evoking the freshness and translucency of a rose petal.
  • The Bulgarian Rose, audacious, brings a fruity fragrance reminiscent of fresh sweet raspberries
  • The Moroccan Rose reveals a sensual, velvety scent that diffuses an enchanting harmony.
